Asus ZenFone Lite L1, Max M1 get price cuts: Now start from Rs 4,999, to compete with Redmi Go

first_imgThe sub-Rs 10,000 segment is seeing a lot of action these days, especially after Xiaomi’s continued launches for the past few weeks. The Redmi Go offered at Rs 4,499 has clearly set a benchmark and other companies are now trying their best to get back some traction with new products or renew prices of older models. Asus has done the latter and reduced the prices of two of its entry-level models in India the ZenFone Lite L1 and Max M1.The ZenFone Lite L1 has received a permanent price cut and is now priced at Rs 4,999. While it is still slightly expensive than the Redmi Go, the Lite L1 offers some additional features. The Lite L1 sports an 18:9 display with HD+ resolution. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset and comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. It is kept alive by a 3000mAh battery that is claimed to offer an entire day’s backup. There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It also comes with Face Unlock and an expandable storage option up to 256GB via microSD card.The ZenFone Max M1 has also got a price cut and is now available for Rs 6,999. The Max M1 has essentially similar specifications to the Lite L1, except for a few changes. It offers 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, both of which are more than the Lite L1. Additionally, the Max M1 gets a 4000mAh battery that Asus claims will last longer than the Lite L1. The front camera gets an upgrade to 8-megapixels. Plus, there’s a capacitive fingerprint sensor at the back.advertisementThe ZenFone Max M1 will directly compete with the Xiaomi Redmi 7. However, Asus also has the ZenFone Max Pro M1 selling at Rs 8,499 which offers a superior chipset, a bigger battery and larger display than both the other phones.
